I am a 30 year veteran of the tech industry with a broad range of experience from software design and engineering to public company management.
I have two adult children who have families of their own and live in Vancouver, British Columbia.
I live with my wife, an attorney, in the Santa Clarita Valley, California, on a 2 acre horse property which provides a refuge for us both from the hubbub of working in the environs of Los Angeles.
We are both active people and we run and cycle regularly. Last summer – 2010 – we traveled to Peru on a missions trip with our Church – the Newhall Church of the Nazarene.
My main extra-mural activities are flying (PPL) and music. My wife and I host an open mic called Hope-N-Mic in Newhall in Los Angeles County. We are very supportive of the local musicians and attend other open mic evenings on a regular basis. I play acoustic guitar and bass in the worship team at the church and a little piano (it’s very small
).
I fly out of Santa Paula airport currently renting Cessna 172s from CP Aviation, although I confess I’d like to build an RV-10 one day.
I generally have a couple of projects going in addition to work and “play”. For example I decided to learn to play the saxophone so, having purchased an alto sax, I’m “having at it” ! I write songs and because I think the piano is a better instrument for composition I plan on getting piano lessons “soon”.
I am presently working on a project to drive traffic to web sites with greater accuracy and specificity than that provided by the generic search engines and things such as Google Adwords (® Google).
I also maintain a couple of web sites for friends. Please see the ‘blog roll’ list in the right column.
